How To Heal Faster From Stretch Mark Camouflage Tattoo

SO YOU WANT TO HEAL FASTER, YA?

Everyone wins when a client heals quickly. I start your touch-ups sooner (if you need one), we prevent hyperpigmentation from forming, and you’re off your merry way to that exotic destination-bikini in tote!

Figuring out the recipe in helping my clients heal faster has been a constant obsession of mine. The Brazilian Stretch Mark Camouflage Tattoo has only been around for about 6-7 years. It’s still relatively new in the market and I believe most tattoo artists are figuring out more productive and efficient methods to camouflaging stretch marks and scars.

Personally, I’ve been invested in improving the healing process and experience for clients, including researching after-care products that are best for ink retention and skin repair. Below I’ll be sharing the consistencies I’ve noticed in clients who healed in 30 days or less with the stretch mark and scar camouflage tattoo.

Disclaimer, I am not a Doctor by any means and so the advice and tips listed below is to merely share some commonalities I’ve noticed in these clients. Genetics and age do play a factor, but overall, here are some interesting things I’ve found through my experience…

CLIENTS WHO HEAL IN 30 DAYS OR LESS TEND TO:

  • Diligently follow the post-care instructions of cold-compressing the areas camouflaged in the 1st 3 days, 8-9x, for 8-10 minute sessions each!

  • Avoid any direct sun exposure

  • Limit consumption of alcohol before and after their camouflage procedure

  • Are not on their monthly cycle when they get tattooed

  • In general, are in good health which results in less inflammation

In regards to genetics and age, the fastest healing client I’ve ever had was Tracey Vlahos, and she’s in her late 40’s. Tracey healed in a matter of 2 weeks – that’s 14 days! Not only did she heal quickly from her stretch mark camouflage tattoo, but she’s also undergone more invasive procedures, like plastic surgery. Long story short, her surgeons are always amazed by how fast she recovers.

SO WHAT’S HER SECRET?

Tracey is a Board-Certified Holistic Health Practitioner, who promotes vitality, positivity and body confidence to women. She’s amazing and was so open in sharing with me that her #1 secret to healing fast is eating non-inflammatory foods while she’s recovering from any procedure.

Bingo! That totalllllly makes sense. The areas tattooed will be inflamed and swelled for about 1-3 days. The skin has to adjust to the new wounds and regenerate, but can’t do that effectively or quickly if it’s already in combat-mode with inflammation stored from processed foods. Tracey is intentional in what she fuels her body with, but is even more diligent during pre and post-procedures, or situations where her body will be undergoing something more “traumatic.”

HERE IS WHAT SHE STAYS AWAY FROM! THESE ARE CONSIDERED “INFLAMMATORY FOOD TYPES”:

  • Sugar and high-fructose corn syrup

  • Trans-fat; packaged cakes, cookies, pastries, and all processed foods (buh-bye Twinkies)

  • Hydrogenated vegetable oil (an ingredient often found in packaged processed foods)

  • Refined carbohydrates that have added sugar and flour; candy, bread, pasta, pastries, some cereals

  • Alcohol – limit consumption to only a couple of drinks a week

  • Sugary drinks with added juices, simple syrup, and mixers

  • Processed meats; sausage, bacon, ham, smoked meat and beef jerky

  •  Dairy or limiting it to 1 serving a day because it can cause inflammation

In addition to sharing this with me, she also gave me a simple meal plan of easy-to-make-shakes and a list of anti-inflammatory foods to share with you!
