Our client got a rare case of chicken pox as an adult (not as a child) and it ended up scarring her chest. She came to us in hopes of making them look less noticeable so that she could feel comfortable wearing tanks, low top dresses (as seen in her after photo) and shirts out in public.
We ended up doing three camouflage tattoo sessions on her…the last being to add “freckles” to help camouflage the illusion of her scars even more.
This process did require some patience. The three sessions were in 2-3 month intervals. I needed to wait to see how her skin healed since scars can be tricky, despite the small size of them. Here’s what her journey looked like…
Session one we customized an ink color that matched her skin tone to take away the white contrast of her scars. Once she healed though, it was as if I had never tattooed her. The scars rejected the ink pigment so we booked a second session.
On her second session, I went deeper and thicker in pigment. This time her scars took the ink but still needed more blending to do. They were no longer white, but still visible because the surrounding skin had so many freckles. I suggested we book a touch-up, or third session to first wait for the skin to heal, then apply the illusion of freckles with darker pigment.
The third session was the charm! Adding those freckles helped to camouflage her scars even further. Here’s her before/after video of her amazing transformation and results!
