This is often the final step in the reconstruction journey — and for many, the most personal.
trusted referral partner for leading surgeons in the Phoenix Valley
If you’ve completed your healing process but still feel like something is missing — or your chest doesn’t yet reflect how you see yourself — this service was created with you in mind. Every part of this process is designed to make the tattoo look like it belongs there.
Size, shape, placement, pigment selection, and edge definition are carefully customized to your skin tone, surgical outcome, and natural anatomy to recreate what feels familiar to you. This is detail-driven work because precision is what creates realism.
Your journey begins with a private consultation where we’ll discuss your surgical history, healing stage, skin tone, placement preferences, and what you hope to see when you look in the mirror.
3D nipple and areola tattooing is performed only on fully healed surgical areas (typically 1 year post-surgery). During your consultation, I’ll confirm your readiness and answer any questions so you feel fully informed moving forward.
On the day of your appointment, we’ll map the design together. You’ll approve the size, shape, and placement before tattooing begins. The procedure typically takes two hours and is completed in 2 sessions, depending on your skin and desired depth.
You’ll leave with detailed aftercare instructions and full support throughout the healing process.
These tattoos aren’t just about appearance—they’re about recreating a part of yourself that feels authentic, so you can look in the mirror and see something familiar, not something missing.
- Nicole, breast cancer survivor
"My name is Nicole and I had the BEST experience with Jayd today! I am a breast cancer survivor and she did a PHENOMENAL job on my areola and nipple tattoos! My eyes were literally filled with tears at the end (it didn’t take nearly as long as I thought!) and I am so grateful. Not only is Jayd and amazing person and kind, she makes you feel so comfortable. I was impressed at her ability to choose the perfect colors. I can’t express enough how much it means to be able to look in the mirror now and feel better about myself as a woman. Cancer stole so much from me and Jayd helped give a little bit of my peace back to me."
- Lourdes, breast cancer survivor
"I would truly recommend Studio Conceal’s services. The talent and compassion Jayd Hernandez provides truly deserve to be shared because what she creates is more than art; it’s closure, confidence, and calm after the storm. For anyone standing where I once stood, wondering if this step is for them, know this: healing can take many forms, and this one may be more powerful than you ever imagined."
- Robbie, breast cancer survivor
"Jayd and her sweet team have created an atmosphere that’s warm, welcoming, and calming, with every detail thoughtfully designed to make you feel comfortable and cared for. They truly go above and beyond — not just in their skill, but in the way they treat you. I was pampered with such a gentle, caring touch that I left feeling both beautiful and deeply cared for. It’s rare to find a place where you feel so safe, understood, and valued, and Jayd and her team deliver that in every way. I can’t recommend them enough!"
"Being a breast cancer survivor, finding the right person to connect with is important and Jayd is it! I looked for 4 year for the right person to finish my journey with. She warm, caring, thoughtful and so gentle. From the first zoom call to finishing in the studio I always felt welcomed. I flew from Florida to Arizona because I knew she was the right person for the job!"

You can be thankful for being alive... and still want more for your body
Giving you back a sense of normalcy, so you can live without constantly being reminded of what you’ve been through.
Yes! If you've undergone a mastectomy, breast reconstruction, gender-affirming surgery, or simply want to enhance the symmetry or color of your areolas, this restorative tattooing helps you reclaim confidence and feel whole again—both inside and out.
There are no national regulations for this specialized service, so choosing an experienced paramedical 3D nipple tattoo artist is crucial. Many hospitals offer referrals, but few professionals are trained in 3D nipple and areola tattooing. Our studio specializes in this art form, blending aesthetics with empathy.
Most clients report little to no pain. Sensation often depends on nerve endings post-surgery. We prioritize your comfort every step of the way, and we’ll walk you through what to expect before your session. We use numbing creams sparingly because they can interfere with how the pigment settles into scar tissue. Our method ensures a more vibrant, long-lasting, and natural-looking result.
Typically, your session is 2 hours. This includes time for design and size consultation, pigment selection, and the tattoo itself. It’s never rushed—this is your healing moment.
Wear something easy to remove and loose, like a button-up top. We'll provide a robe to keep you comfortable during the procedure and apply a breathable, protective dressing afterward.
Initial healing takes around 4–6 weeks. Expect mild scabbing and some light peeling. We'll give you detailed aftercare instructions to support a smooth, healthy recovery.
Look for someone with verified experience in paramedical tattooing, a strong portfolio of before-and-after results, and compassionate bedside manner. We specialize in working with scar tissue and post-surgical skin to deliver safe, lifelike results.
Technically, 3D nipple tattoos are designed to be permanent, but considering that the skin is compromised and often scarred, it can soften the tattoo much faster than healthy skin. With proper care, most clients enjoy their results for a few years before opting for a touch-up session. A simple color refresh can be done in about an hour.
Yes, all tattoos fade or change due to sun exposure, aging, and health. Most clients refresh color every 5–10 years. UV protection is recommended on healed areas to ensure longevity.
Through advanced shading, color blending, and light manipulation, we create the illusion of a raised, natural nipple. Even up close, the effect is realistic. It truly is an art form, and every artist has their own style.
In many cases, yes. Areola tattooing is often classified as part of breast reconstruction under the Women’s Health and Cancer Rights Act. We offer medical billing paperwork free of charge for all of our clients to help you get the coverage you deserve.

Most surgeons recommend waiting at least 4–6 months post-surgery, but we require closer to one year. We want scars to be fully white and the skin underneath fully healed for best results. We offer free consultations if you're unsure or you can message us pictures for a quick check.
Yes. We only use compliant and sterile-grade inks from reputable manufacturers who have been in business for over a century.
No. Tattoo pigment is deposited just beneath the epidermis into the dermis, far from any implant. This keeps the procedure safe for those with breast implants.
We follow strict OSHA and CDC protocols: single-use sterile needles, hospital-grade disinfectants, autoclaved tools, face masks, and fresh gloves for every client.
After your 3D nipple tattooing session, you may experience temporary redness, swelling, mild scabbing, or itching. These are common immediately after getting tattooed.

Absolutely. We custom-blend pigments to match your skin tone, existing areolas, or reconstructed nipples to ensure symmetry and lifelike results.
Jayd works in two sessions. The goal is to avoid overworking the skin in one session. After 8–10 weeks, the second session ("the magic session") enhances detail, 3D effect, and balance.
You'll receive custom aftercare instructions. Typically, you'll wear a waterproof dressing for 7–10 days, cleanse with fragrance-free lotion, and avoid intense activity and sun. Healing completes in 4–6 weeks. A touch-up happens 8–10 weeks later.
Yes. Many breast cancer survivors find it helpful to wait until they’ve emotionally accepted their post-surgery body before getting tattooed.
That’s totally valid. We offer free temporary nipple tattoos that fade in 7–10 days. These let you "try it on" before committing. Book an appointment—it only takes about 5 minutes to apply. Call or message us at 480-680-9966.
