Hi there!

Studio Conceal founder Jayd Hernandez posing for a branding photoshoot in Gilbert, Arizona

Providing a service that’s innovative and new is really exciting, but it also has its challenges. There’s not a lot of resources or education available when it comes to learning more about the stretch mark camouflage procedure.

What’s even more disheartening is the number of women that tell me they’ve spent thousands of dollars on lasers and micro-needling sessions without any resolution to their stretch marks. If they had known about the stretch mark camouflage tattoo first, they would’ve made a more informed decision.

Given that this is a relatively new procedure in the U.S – and the world in general, I’ve been fortunate to have clients who have been open and receptive in letting me share their before and after photos, as well as, take videos of our tattoo sessions to help better educate the public about this service.

I had one particular client who could find nothing about the healing process before she booked her session with me – and so this blog is dedicated to her 🙂 and her generosity in allowing me to post her weekly updates with me from start to finish.

She healed roughly around the 45-50 day mark and will need a touch up in the Fall, but overall, she has seen a vast improvement in concealing her stretch marks and making them less noticeable.

The lighting was taken all over her house and at different times of the day, so her photos are a bit inconsistent, but I think they still provide a great depiction of the healing process. This procedure requires time and patience and because every skin type is different, healing times can vary from 45 days to 4 or 5 months if you’re naturally prone to hyper-pigmentation.

You’ll also notice that our scars do funny things as it heals and so in some pictures, her stretch marks may look lighter, then darker, then lighter again. This is a natural progression of healing as our skin regenerates and exfoliates (sheds) into new layers.

My client was also very diligent in avoiding sun exposure while healing, though her skin looks tanned in some pictures – it’s really just the lighting and time of day the photo was taken. I really hope this helps some of you who have been thinking about doing this. If you have any questions, please comment or send me a message.

She’s pretty much healed at this point and we’ve decided to do her touch up in the Fall so that she can enjoy the sun for a bit.

Just a reminder that the stretch mark camouflage will not “remove” your stretch marks, but it will help conceal them so that they’re less noticeable. Hope this blog post helps you visualize the healing process and provide an alternative solution to feeling freer in your own body and skin again.
