Here is another Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) client of mine who wanted the look of a fuller, thicker head of hair. Also known as hairline tattoo, SMP helps restore your confidence by covering your balding spots or providing a solution for receding hairlines.
Scalp micropigmentation is a safer, non-invasive option for hair loss and receding hairlines compared to hair transplantation. Although the latter presents a head of fuller hair, a hair transplant does not come without risks – and cost. In fact, SMP can even cover scars of hair transplants.
How long does scalp micropigmentation last?
Scalp micropigmentation lasts 4-6 years, and gradual fading over the next few years. A client can always come back for a touchup after this time.
Is scalp micropigmentation noticeable?
Aside from performing color matching, the SMP dots is placed to look as natural as possible that even if viewed from 1 foot away, people will not be able to tell the difference.
When can you wash your hair after SMP?
While there is no downtime and you can go on with your day’s activities after the procedure, it is strictly advised that you do not wash your scalp for a minimum of three days. Also, refrain from touching the treated areas during that period. You can safely clean your scalp after 1 week.
Do you have to shave your head for scalp micropigmentation?
The answer is no. Some SMP clients come for the procedure just to have the look of a fuller head of hair by covering thinning areas of the scalp with pigments.
Does scalp micropigmentation cause hair loss?
SMP does not cause hair loss. The hair follicles are deeper than where the ink is applied and thus, SMP does not harm the existing hair follicles.
